You also have to know that a hot or cold battery will temporarily not going to work on your device.

Finally, it is highly recommended that you should not dispose your batteries on fires. It will explode and somebody might get hurt who is near the area of the fire. Damaged batteries also have the chance to explode so its best not to use them and acquire a new replacement.
